3.1 Sampling

Sample to BS 6001 multi-sample plan at level 2.5% A.Q.L. Sample quantity 10 units or 10% of total quantity, whichever is the greater.from a minimum of ten containers if possible.

3.2 Physical

Check dimensions to the mechanical outline drawing, Figure 1.

3.3.1 Pins

Check that the pins are straight and undamaged.

3.3.2 Laminations

3.3.3 Shock

Check that the lamination stack construction is adequate, particularly when crimp method is used.

The transformer, when fitted to a pcb, shall withstand a half-sine shock of 530g peak with duration of 18ms, method according to IEC 60068-2-27.

3.3 Corrosion

Check that the transformer assembly is free from dust and dirt, and protected by varnish against corrosion / rusting by submitting samples to test atmosphere at 100% R.H. with dew formation twice daily for 28 cycles.

Solderability

Check that the pins will solder to within 1mm of the pin root.

3.4 Connections

Check that the terminations are clean and bright.

Output Voltages

Check that all output voltages meet specification at 205V AC, 50Hz input

3.57 Insulation Properties

Check the insulation between primary and secondary will withstand 4.5kV AC, 50Hz for 610 seconds, trip current level 10mA.

3.68 Thermal Fuse Operation

TCheck that the thermal fuse shall operates followingduring an 415V over-voltage test.test where a mains voltage of 415V is applied for 12 hours at 40° C. No significant overheating or explosions etc. are permitted and no damage shall be sustained by the transformer during the test. The transformer shall meet its insulation test requirement after the test.

No damage shall be sustained to the transformer windings after the test.
